8 New Things We Love At Global Village

global village season 30 - new things - happiness street, gardens of the world, dessert district

Dubai residents have been eagerly waiting for Global Village to fling open its gates and that moment finally arrived yesterday evening. 600 drones dazzled the Arabian sky, screaming one loud and glittery message – 30 years of Global Village. It was a spectacle worth watching and just a start to a 6-month long celebration. And if you were there, you’d also have spotted their new autonomous DPR 02 patrol vehicle going about its duties.

Anyway, with the weather cooling down, now’s the perfect time to head to Season 30 of Global Village and explore what’s new. Because not one, not two, there are atleast six new things that have popped up at your favourite hangout. And that’s exactly what we’re going to delve into now. Here are 6 mind-blowing new additions at Season 30 of Global Village:

1. Happiness Street Revamped

There’s a spectacular canopy at the Happiness Street and it’s a stunner. Not only is it exuding vibrant charm, but it’s also acting as a sophisticated shade to some of our favourite eateries.

    2. Global Village Season 30 Cake Monument

What’s 30th birthday without a fab-looking cake? Global Village thought the same and went all out with a cake monument at Arabian Square that stands tall as a homage to 30 years of bringing cultural diversity, food and entertainment under one roof. It’s the perfect photo-spot for your pictures this year and a way to say “thank you” to this attraction that’s been entertaining us for as long as we can remember.

    3. Little Wonderer’s Play Area

Good news for mums and dads of tiny tots as Global Village is opening up a brand new play area for your little ones at Carnaval. Think slides, climbing tunnels, ball pits and basically all things soft play! This isn’t fully open yet but will begin pretty soon.

    4. New rides at Global Village

For all the thrill-seekers and adventure-lovers, you’ll squeal with joy to know that Global Village is back this year with six new rides such as Rio Rocket, Desert Dashers and Cape Glider. With this addition, Global Village is now a proud home to 200 rides!

    5. Enhanced digital maps

If you, like me, have gotten lost in the enchanting pavilions while having your folks wait for you at the other end of the attraction, then that’s going to be a thing of the past. Navigation is going to be easier than ever with the new way-finding screens placed at strategic locations across the 17.2 million square foot venue. Oh, and electric scooters are available for rent at our favourite cultural destination!

    6. 40,500 Shows Await

Oh no, I’m not exaggerating even a teeny bit. More than 450 artists across 30 nationalities are gearing up to perform at Global Village this season. Get ready to witness Red Hot Chili Pipers, Burn the Floor, Dhol Foundation Swan Lake and more! The little ones can drop by the Kids Theatre to catch some exclusive performances from Care Bears and PJ Masks. Trust me, it’s going to be entertainment all the way!

    7. Miracle Garden Vibes @ Global Village

There’s a ‘Gardens of the World’ attraction located right ahead of the Egypt pavilion and spilling over to the Iran pavilion. Bloom lovers will be thrilled to see flowers tastefully curated and arranged to form global landmark.

    8. Dessert District

Railway Market is now Dessert District and it’s easily one of the best spots in Global Village to hangout. Especially if you have a sweet tooth. Expect to be bombarded by desserts, confectionaries and all things sweet here!

You can enter Global Village for just AED 25 on weekdays when purchased online. It’s AED 30 for any-day access. Kids under 3 years and seniot citizens can enter the venue for free. The same applies to People of Determination. You can grab your tickets either directly at the gate or on the Global Village website/app. I would suggest you buy it online as these tickets qualify for an automatic entry into the Dream Dubai raffle.
